Dr. Rona Law is a fellowship-trained foot and ankle surgeon specializing in forefoot and rearfoot reconstruction.
Dr. Law was born in Hong Kong and raised in the city of Torrance, California. She attended University of California, Los Angeles, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in molecular, cell, and developmental biology. She then completed her medical education at the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine of Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, Illinois.
She went on to complete an acclaimed medical and surgical residency at Grant Medical Center, a Level 1 Trauma center in Columbus, Ohio, where she trained under internationally renowned foot and ankle surgeons. As chief resident, she was involved in over 1300 foot and ankle surgical cases. Dr. Law then dedicated an additional year in fellowship training and specialized in over 250 complex procedures in the forefoot, rearfoot, and ankle reconstructive surgery and trauma in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania under the tutelage of Dr. Mark Hofbauer.
During her surgical training, she concentrated on sports injuries, foot and ankle trauma, minimally invasive foot and ankle arthroscopic techniques, cartilage pathology including osteochondral defects, and orthopedic foot and ankle deformity reconstruction utilizing both internal and external fixation. Dr. Law integrates arthroscopy in her practice as an advanced yet minimally invasive diagnostic and treatment modality to provide patients with optimal outcomes.
While her extensive training has allowed her to understand proper lower extremity biomechanics and the newest surgical techniques, she prioritizes patient education and conservative treatments before surgical intervention. She has contributed multiple scientific articles to foot and ankle surgical journals and received recognition in leadership during medical school and residency training. Dr. Law is committed to ethical treatment, the most up to date, compassionate, individualized patient care, and lifelong learning.
Outside of foot and ankle surgery, Dr. Law enjoys watching and playing sports, cooking, hiking national park trails, spending time with her new Bernese Mountain puppy Maya, and traveling.
